Studio

Ginger and Mylo is a Small Interior Design studio based in North London working on residential, commercial and staging projects. Our style is clean, relaxed and contemporary, with a mixture of classic elements and minimal fuss. We believe that good design never dates and, as such, aspire to a beautifully understated luxury and charm. We love to find and work with craftsmen and fabric suppliers from across the world. We are also taking steps to ensure that we are increasingly environmentally conscious and sustainable with our product choices.

Our ethos is creating spaces people want to be in, whether it be work or to live.  Our designs are not just aesthetically pleasing but inviting, comforting, practical and logical. Above all, our spaces are designed to ‘work’.

MEET THE DESIGNER

Elida Joannou

Our founder Elida studied Business Management at university, following which she became an estate agent for seven years. During this time Elida unearthed a true passion for property, bricks and mortar. 

Elida eventually took a leap of faith, changing career and studying Interior Design at KLC (graduating in 2017). Elida started her new life as freelancer until gaining a position at Martin Hulbert Design where she stayed for two and a half years, working on high end residential and commercial projects both in the UK and abroad. 

Elida is well travelled with plenty of more places on her list. She spent five months in South America travelling, “trying” to learn Spanish and soaking up the culture. She is a lover of food, adventure, textiles, photography, architecture and good design. Elida has always had an interest in renovating and building projects with her first ever project was at age 26 with zero experience. The complete renovation of a small garden studio into a one bed flat!

Process

Whether a single room or a full renovation we work with our clients as a team alongside the architect, construction team, craftsmen and any other collaboration needed. Each project is unique and we consistently aim to bring each project to life with its own identity. Understanding the client how they live use a space; what they want, need or dislike, are all keys factors in making sure our spaces are designed well. We want our clients to be inspired by the space we have created, to not want to leave, for it to feel like home and like it’s always been like this.
